Education Law Attorney, Hearing Officer, Mediator and Parent

With experience as both a lawyer and a parent of a child in special education, I understand the system from every angle — and offer impartial consultations to help you make the best choices for your child.

My Story

I’ve spent almost two decades working in education law. First, as an attorney, I worked with families to help them with special education and school discipline matters. Today, I serve as a contract hearing officer and mediator with the New Hampshire Department of Education.

That role means I no longer represent clients in school-related disputes. Instead, I provide consultations designed to give parents practical insight before they make big decisions. My goal is to help you feel informed and prepared without any pressure or escalation of conflict.

Why I Do This Work

As both a lawyer and a parent of a child who received special education services, I know how complicated and emotional these situations can be. Parents often feel outmatched or unsure whether they’re making the right decisions.

That’s why my consultations are designed to give you clarity and balance. You get honest feedback—even if it means learning that your case isn’t as strong as you hoped—so you can move forward with confidence, knowing you explored your options fully.

My Guiding Belief

Success means finding the best options for your family. It isn’t about “winning” through litigation. In fact, litigation should be a last resort.

With empowerment through knowledge and planning, parents and guardians are often able to achieve their goals without the stress, expense and risk of litigation. Of course, there are exceptions.  Every family’s path is different, and I’m here to help you find yours.
